Dodgeball

(My 100 words or less review that appeared in the Sydney Morning herald Competition)

Forget what the critics say, Dodgeball is a hoot!  Ignore the inevitable smutty jokes (mostly about balls), and look below the surface.  As with The Royal Tenenbaums, there's enough humour in the background to support several viewings. The main story – slovenly gym owner (Vince Vaughn) is losing his gym to sleazy gym empire builder (Ben Stiller) and to keep it has to win the Las Vegas Dodgeball Championships – is just the start.  God is in the details here.  Like Stiller's Tenenbaums and Zoolander, this one's bound for cult glory.  And the game of dodgeball is suddenly all the rage.
