The Trigger Effect
I'm going from memory here, but I saw this at the cinema and it impressed me very much. Not many people saw it though, and that's a pity. It has a lot to say about the issue of guns and gun control, and it poses the questions in the debate powerfully and relentlessly i a fictional context. Kyle McLaughlan stars, and is very effective as a man pushed outside his comfort zone and forced to act in a world he has no skills for.
The movie proposes a scenario where one morning there is, for some unknown reason, no electricity anywhere. What happens then? One thing leads to another, and suddenly things are desperate.
I can't find any mention of this movie in any of my reference books, so I suspect it might have been released under another name overseas. I'm pretty sure I saw it in 1996.
